Accommodations

Q.  How many rooms do you have?

A.  We have 100 Guest Rooms which are exclusively reserved for medical related travelers.

Q.  Do you offer connecting rooms?

A.  Yes, connecting rooms are available upon request.

Q.  Are linens and housekeeping services provided daily?

A.  Yes, linens and daily Housekeeping Services are provided.

Q.  Do you have weekly or monthly rates?

A.  No, we currently offer only nightly rates.

Q.  Do I need a letter or other form of verification from my doctor?

A.  No, upon making a reservation you will be asked to provide information verifying your medical related travel; however, we do not require written verification from medical practitioners.

Q.  Do I share a room with another Guest?

A.  No, all reservations made directly with the Hotel are private accommodations which include private washrooms etc.  The look and feel of our property is similar to a regular hotel.

Q.  Can you recommend restaurants, activities, or entertainment?

A.  Yes. our Guest Services Agents are pleased to offer suggestions on all local points of interest. 

Q.  What in room amenities do you provide?

A.  Our design principles, in keeping with our vision to be a low cost hotel alternative, are Clean & Basic; however, we do offer extended cable television, telephones with voice mail and data ports, and clock radios.

Q.  Do you have a swimming pool?

A.  No, we do not have an on site pool; however, there are a number of local public access swimming facilities.  Please inquire with Guest Services.

Q.  Are medical services provided at the Hotel?

A.  No, whereas we are a Specialty Hotel there are no medical services provided at the property.  In the event of an emergency please dial 911 to access emergency medical services.

Dining

Q.  Do you provide meals?

A.  Yes, we have a 100 seat cafeteria style dining room which serves meals daily.

Q.  Are meals included in your room rates?

A.  No, room rates do not include meals.  Meals may be purchased in the DIning Room.  Cash, debit, and major credit cards are accepted.

Q.  Do you offer take out meals?

A.  No; however, the DIning Room can make available many food items for take out, with the exception of full entrés.

Q.  Do you have in room dining?

A.  No, we do not offer in room dining.

Q.  Are you meals cooked on site?

A.  Yes, our Dining Room and Kitchen are staffed by a professionally trained and certified Culinary Team. All meals are prepared on site using high quality, fresh ingredients.

Q.  Can you provide driving directions from all major routes?

A.  Yes, we are pleased to provide driving directions both on our site and at the Front Desk at any time.

Q.  Where are you located?

A.  We are located at 1121 South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 2W6.

Q.  What are your nearest cross streets?

A.  Our nearest major cross Streets are South Street and South Park Street to the North and Inglis Street and South Park Street to the South.

Q.  Where is the closest Metro Transit Bus stop?

A.  Metro Transit Bus stops are located just outside the Hotel front doors traveling both northbound and southbound.

Q.  Do you offer parking? Cost?

A.  Yes, we do offer limited Guest Rental Parking based on availability at the time of check in at a rate of $12.00 per night.

Q.  Where can I park if your lot is full?

A.  There are a number of local pay parking lots.  Please speak with one of our Guest Services Agents for directions.

Q.  How can I get to you from the Airport?

A.  Although the Airporter Airport Service does not make routine stops at our property they are often able to accommodate the stop.  Alternatively, we may collect you from the nearest stop at the top of South Park Street and transport you directly to our Hotel which is mere seconds away.

Q.  Are you close to Via Rail?

A.  Yes, we are close to Via Rail.

A.  No, we are a 100% privately owned and operated, not for profit, business.

Q.  How long have you been here?

A.  We opened for business in 1975.

Q.  Are you close to pharmacies and other points of interest?

A.  Yes, we are close to a number of pharmacies and other similar points of interest.

Q.  How close is the Hotel to the hospital?

A.  The Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre is comprised of a number of distinct sites, all of which are in close proximity to the Hotel.

Q.  Will my insurance cover my stay?

A.  Receipts for payment of accommodations and meals are provided on check out for those wishing to pursue individual medical claims with private insurers.
